Quantec
Quantec Limited is a New Zealand-based company specialising in high-value bioactives from natural products. These bioactives are then developed into proprietary ingredient formulations for use in finished product applications such as human health and animal health.
One such bioactive is a novel milk fraction, comprised of native immune defence proteins (IDPTM), that has proven anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory properties. As part of a proprietary broad-spectrum anti-microbial, anti-inflammatory and immune modulating ingredient, this formulation can be used in a variety of applications such as foods, supplements, personal care, cosmetics and animal health remedies.
Synlait
Synlait is an integrated dairy farming/dairy ingredients producer with an ambition to produce process and market specialist milk products focused on the functional food and nutraceutical categories.
Synlait farms currently produce approximately four million kg milksolids, from eight farming operations. This commodity milk is sold into traditional value chains.
Synlait is in the process of establishing a medium scale spray drying milk powder plant in close proximity to the farming operations. Scheduled to be commissioned in August 07, the plant will enable production of a wide range of powder based dairy ingredients carrying the nutritional or immunological attributes engineered into the products from the point of milk production.
